Construction of expansion and upgrades to water treatment system nearing completion

Project tracker

Projected lift date: March 2025

Nibinamik First Nation in Ontario is home to 78 people on reserve. The community is expanding and upgrading its water treatment system to meet current and future safe drinking water needs, with funding from Indigenous Services Canada.

There is 1 long-term drinking water advisory:

Construction of an expansion and upgrades to the community's water treatment system is almost complete. COVID-19 related precautions and supply chain issues delayed construction, which also delayed the lifting of the long-term drinking water advisory. Once complete, the community will test the new water treatment process and flush the distribution system. Then the community should be in a position to lift the drinking water advisory.
